Staff here at Castle Lodge believe in a person-centred approach and their dynamic and constantly-evolving service helps support individuals to achieve their goals by listening to and working with them to offer support in helping them to fulfil their potential. Empowerment enables individuals to take control of their daily life and achieve their optimum level of independence. Wherever possible Castle Lodge empowers patients and their families to be involved in the development of their own support plans, and risk assessments, promoting positive risks.
Our approach to care
Meaningful therapeutic activities
Meaningful therapeutic activities
Meaningful therapeutic activities are carried out in the gardens, lounges, bedrooms, sensory room and internal garden lounge area, offering group and independent meaningful and person centered activities with our patients. There is a ‘life skills’ kitchen, enabling individuals to gain or regain skills in preparation for independent living in both the male and female dining rooms. There are separate male and female garden areas designed for individuals to engage in therapeutic horticultural activities.
Castle Lodge also has a sensory room which can be used for meaningful activities and for relaxation. Castle lodge has a weekly activity plan in place which is displayed on both wards and enables the patients, carers and team to see what we have planned to do for the week.
