Our approach to care
Meaningful therapeutic activities
Meaningful therapeutic activities
Meaningful therapeutic activities include occupational therapy and any other therapy that may be deemed appropriate for the individual’s care needs, 1:1 and / or group therapies. A care plan based on personal needs will be drawn up for each patient, focused on aims and objectives towards discharge and person-centred needs. Our multidisciplinary team work in collaboration with patient, families and partnerships with community and external agencies to develop effective treatment pathways for improving quality of life and maximising independence.

Staff
I’m trained in the speciality of mental health nursing and have worked in previous settings including CAHMS, acute mental health, forensic and older adults. I started working at Jasmine Court as a Senior Nurse in 2019 and 2020 I was promoted to Clinical Lead, then Deputy Hospital Director and I now have the role of Hospital Director.
I worked in a private housing association in London before coming to work at Jasmine Court. I originally joined the team in 2016 as agency staff. I immediately loved the working environment and the way staff welcomed me and inducted me. I fell in love with this and decided that this is the place for me and I would like to work here as permanent staff. Jasmine Court has broadened my knowledge of mental health and patients with dementia and I have worked with some fantastic nurses. I went to University in 2018 to train and qualify as a mental health nurse; I am now a Acting Deputy Hospital Director.
Hi, I’m the Mental Health Act Co-ordinator here at Jasmine Court. I’ve always worked in a caring environment, having been an LSA for 11 years in a primary school. I started with Jasmine Court in 2023. My role involves co-ordinating meetings for patient wellbeing, care and future planning, and maintaining paperwork for sectioned patients.
I started my Barchester career as a support worker at Jasmine Court in February 2019, later that year I became the OTA and have developed a really good rapport with our patients. I am currently completing my Level 3 in Health and Social Care.
Dr Abeysuriya graduated from the Bart’s & Royal London Hospital Medical School in 2004. Having worked in Elderly medicine, he went on to complete Psychiatry training in East London and North Essex. He has been working as an Old Age Psychiatry consultant since 2016.
